Bio

Chereen founded Oak Tree Counseling & Wellness with the belief that meaningful healing requires more than symptom management alone. Through her work as a therapist, yoga teacher, and educator, she saw a gap between highly cognitive approaches that overlooked the body and wellness models that lacked clinical grounding.

Her work integrates evidence-based psychotherapy with nervous system awareness, trauma-informed care, and mind-body practices that support deeper, more sustainable healing.

Her work integrates evidence-based psychotherapy with nervous system awareness, trauma-informed care, and mind-body practices that support deeper, more sustainable healing. Chereen is especially passionate about helping clients navigate trauma, grief, identity, burnout, cultural complexity, and life transitions with greater clarity, self-understanding, and connection.

As a first-generation Egyptian American clinician, Chereen brings a culturally attuned and relational approach to therapy. Clients often describe her presence as warm, grounding, direct, and deeply validating.

Through Oak Tree Counseling & Wellness, her vision is to build a thoughtful, integrative practice where clients can find not only high-quality clinical care, but a genuine sense of safety, connection, and empowerment.

About Chereen

  • I believe healing happens when people feel both understood and empowered.

Throughout my career, I noticed that many approaches focused heavily only on thoughts while overlooking the body or focused on ungrounded wellness trends while overlooking clinical depth. My work grew from a desire to bridge those worlds.

I am passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves, understand their patterns with greater clarity, and create meaningful change that extends beyond the therapy room.

  • Many of my clients feel the wellness industry and therapy world were not built for them and their story-they may be correct. This leads to a feeling of being stuck internally “will no one understand me?” they wonder.

People often come to therapy navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, burnout, cultural identity concerns, difficult relationship patterns, life transitions, or a persistent feeling that something has not fully shifted despite years of insight and effort.

Often, this was something from the past they never fully resolved.

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting. Often therapy begins by making sense of what feels difficult to name.

  • Therapy with me is collaborative, relational, and individualized.

Some sessions may focus on understanding patterns, relationships, and life experiences. Others may include mindfulness, nervous system awareness, somatic approaches, or practical strategies for creating change.

My goal is not simply to help you manage symptoms. It is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and create a life that feels more connected, intentional, and aligned with who you are.
