A Welcome message

About Chereen

Founder and CEO

Welcome,

My name is Chereen.

I created Oak Tree Counseling and Wellness to be your home for mental health, yoga and wellness!

The mighty oak grows from the tiny acorn.

The therapy field overlooks the body's role, while somatic work lacks clear steps for healing, missing the holistic human potential.

I created Oak Tree Counseling and Wellness to be a balance between the extremes I saw in the field; one was too cognitive and one was too metaphysical. I found there was no real ground on how to best find the full range of human potential; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

My passion is empowering people. I hate disingenuous concepts of healing; I believe you need a combination of tools and the right fit and you can find the light within yourself.

I love bringing people together to learn first-hand how to create balance in mind, body and soul.

All areas of our lives are connected.

Right brain and left-brain healing are my mission. I believe we must unlock our nervous system to move forward.

Working with me or my team you will feel seen, heard and validated.

Why Work With Me

Depth. Safety. Transformation.

With over 20 years of experience as a licensed therapist, I bring more than credentials, I bring presence.
Rooted in trauma-informed care, mind-body integration, and cultural humility, my work is designed to meet you where you are and help you move toward where you long to be.

What Sets Me Apart

🧠 Trauma & Nervous System Expertise
I specialize in complex trauma, grief, and somatic healing. Whether you're carrying unspoken pain or living in a constant state of alertness, we gently work together to create a sense of safety—first in the body, then in the mind.

🌍 Bicultural Lens & Inclusive Practice
As a first-generation Egyptian-American, I understand the nuanced layers of cultural identity, migration grief, intergenerational patterns, and not fully feeling seen. My practice honors your wholeness—especially the parts you’ve had to hide.

🌀 Mind-Body Approaches That Work
I'm trained in yoga therapy, Brainspotting, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). These tools go beyond talk therapy to reach the deeper roots of stuckness, anxiety, or disconnection. Healing isn’t just mental—it’s embodied.

🕊️ Grief & Loss Support
Grief is not linear. Whether recent or long ago, I offer a compassionate space to metabolize loss, make meaning, and reorient to life after heartbreak.

🌱 Clinical + Spiritual Integration
With years of hospital work and retreat facilitation, I meet you at the intersection of grounded clinical care and soulful healing. This isn’t about fixing you—it’s about returning to yourself.

My Clients Say They Feel:

  • Seen, not scrutinized

  • Heard, not handled

  • Supported, not pathologized

  • Grounded, even while growing

This Work Is for You If:

  • You’re high-functioning on the outside but overwhelmed inside

  • You’ve tried talk therapy but want to go deeper

  • You long for emotional relief, nervous system regulation, and lasting change

  • You’re seeking a therapist who gets your cultural complexity, spiritual hunger, or quiet ache for more

What’s your fee for psychotherapy?

Starting therapy is a big step, and I want the process to feel as straightforward as possible. That’s why I’m clear about my fee upfront—no surprises, no guesswork. I also accept out-of-network benefits, and many clients use their FSA or HSA to help cover the cost. My goal is to make things transparent and manageable so you can focus on the work that truly matters

The fee to work with me is $300/session.

I offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots and supervision for clinicians.

✨Specialized Work (immigration evaluations) (KAP, intensives): Custom rates available upon consultation.

Sliding scale sessions ($30–$50) are available with my trained counseling supervisees for individuals needing financial support.

I Know That Therapy Isn’t Cheap

I am mindful that therapy can be a significant investment, and I highly regard the time, energy, focus, and money you devote to therapy with me. Out of respect for you and your commitment, I vow to take our work seriously and hold myself to the highest standard in order to provide the best possible care. Many of my previous clients will attest that they have found the investment worthwhile.

How do I use my insurance?

First, you provide me with a credit card to keep on file and charge after each session. Next, I will provide you with a monthly statement, or ‘superbill,’ on the 1st of each month. Following this, you can then submit these statements directly to your insurance company.
